Active monitoring success

I’ve been in active monitoring since 2021.
I know everyone is at different stages—some just starting out, others right in the thick of treatment, or waiting on scans—so I wanted to post this with you all in my thoughts.
My diagnosis came out of the blue after years of treatment for chronic indigestion. A CT scan eventually picked up a huge mass, which turned out to be Non-Hodgkin lymphoma ('NHL'). To cut a long story short, I went through 9 rounds of R-CHOP, two years of maintenance immunotherapy, and more biopsies and surgeries in the last few years than I care to count!
Two weeks ago I had a PET scan, and today at one of my regular reviews I got the best news: no current disease progression.
Honestly, it’s news I never thought I’d hear. I know I can never be told I’m cured, but it’s the best result I could ever hope for. Eight years on from diagnosis, I can honestly say I feel better than I have in years and to have no active disease is amazing.
I just wanted to share my good news to offer a little hope to anyone currently going through the worst of it. There really can be light at the end of the tunnel and the years of active monitoring have been invaluable for me.
Sending love and strength to everyone on here. xx

Hi @Jules and everyone else, that is really wonderful news for you to hear; you must have felt a huge weight being lifted off of you at that moment or, if you are like me, some time after when your brain had decoded what had been said! I am quite good at hearing without necessarily listening (especially at work and to management!).

I am really chuffed for you.

Take care, all of my Forum Friends, and stay safe.

Best wishes,
