Welcome back!

AML Patient and Carer Survey

A request from Professor Simon Stanworth, on behalf of the PROPEL team and the PROPEL patient and public engagement team.

I am writing to seek your help and input for a new study proposal that we are developing with researchers and members of the public and patients.

Our study is about prehabilitation for patients with a form of acute leukaemia called acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), and called the PROPEL study - "Evaluation of PeRsOnalised PrEhabilitation in acute myeloid Leukaemia”. Prehabilitation is about providing addition help on wellbeing, nutrition and exercise, to help patients cope with the treatment of chemotherapy

The patient and carer members of our ‘PROPEL’ trial development group have created a brief survey to find out your thoughts, feelings and experiences of ‘prehabilitation’ during the early phases of your treatment for AML. We expect the findings will help us to better design our national study in which prehabilitation can be provided to support people going through their treatment for AML.

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey as soon as possible so that we can better understand the gaps in this area of care and thereby improve practice, through research.

The link to the survey is shown below, and this includes a background at the beginning of the survey. You can also access the survey by scanning the attached QR code.

Thank you again for your time.
