@2DB good idea to rest-up x I’m doing the same this afternoon, I’ve put laundry away, hung another load up, done 1k steps :joy: now I’m knackered , but feel better for doing a little x I’ll put that on hubbys shoping list for Saturday, but I have little faith in him finding it :joy: last week I asked for dairylea, had a real yearning for it and he brought cathedral cheddar minis instead, and I wanted S & V crisps and he brought plain :joy::joy: he’s trying his hardest x

@Spangleystar @2DB ladies I feel so darn ugly and hideous, and down today, when do things start to feel better and worthwhile?

When your head feels better, everything else will too. I’m so used to my bald head now it’s going to be weird to have actual hair when eventually that starts to grow again! I must admit I thought it would have started by now

You are so much more than what the mirror shows you lovely, you are a beautiful soul @Byrnebaby xx

Hi @Byrnebaby @Spangleystar and @2DB

Really hope you’re managing okay in this heat.

It’s warm here in the Scottish Highlands but a pleasant 23C.

Not long had a Fruit Pastille ice lolly. Perfect in days like this.

Maybe worth adding to your shopping list, especially if the hot weather is continuing.

Hello @Byrnebaby and @Spangleystar I feel for you both. I wanted to share some words from a poem I wrote a few months ago. Hope they encourage you.

SO MUCH MORE

You’re so much more

Than what you can see.

The mirror doesn’t reflect

The reality.

The mirror doesn’t show

How brave you are

Or the battles you’ve fought

To get this far.

Concealed beneath

Your outside features

Are lessons you learn

From trusted teachers.

Those who help you

To mend and heal,

Give you permission

To keep being real.

No one can measure

The grief and loss

Or fully appreciate

What it has cost.

You’re so much more

Than what you can see

So start to fulfil

Your destiny.

Take a step back

Look how far you have come

And give yourself

Some recognition.

Willow x

I still can’t do ice lollies since my melphalan and ice. Thought of fruit flavoured ice makes me shudder, I can however do ice cream and I have discovered that pistachio magnums are heaven in this heat, but terrible for you - so it’ll only be a weekly treat!

Meant to thank you @DuncanB as I think it was you who recommended ‘Move with Nicole’ on You Tube, my pilates class this morning was cancelled- but I found a couple of her classes and did those back to back, so I didn’t miss out!

It’s really interesting that you mention start to fulfil your destiny, because I keep thinking I’ve got this for a reason and I’m trying to figure out what I need to do with it! I’m not one for social media so it’s not raising awareness that way, but I do need to find a way for good things to happen out of it… xx

I’ve helped set up a new group on fb, yhst caters for everyone from starting the diagnosis process onwards, due to a bad experience with a group on there that quizzes you then sends you away until you have a full diagnosis, send you away and say, if you’re going to get a cancer this is the ‘best one to get’ :exploding_head: @Spangleystar

Lovely @Willow thank you, I don’t consider myself brave at all, I feel like I’m walking through mud in a total nightmare, terrified not brave x

I’m not bald yet :glowing_star: it seems to be hanging on in there for now, I’m expecting it to drop at any moment x @Spangleystar

It’s the privacy aspects of social media that I’m not good with, I know that’s a personal thing for me. Well done you for setting up that new group xx

Surely it won’t now - isn’t it nearly a month since melph? I went over mine with the #1 clippers when I got out as I’d lost maybe 90% and it stopped coming out by 16. So why do you feel you look different? Xx

Another lovely poem @Willow

I actually bought a few copies of a book called Poetry for Purpose written by Blood Cancer Ambassador called Michelle Williams.

They were written by her to keep her going during a year of hospital isolation going through treatment and then Bone Marrow Transplant.

She was actually sharing the poems as she wrote them on Facebook and in the process raised over £1,000 for Blood Cancer UK from her hospital bed.

The book is raising funds for Anthony Nolan and her Transplant Unit.

I took a copy to my Cancer Support Worker at Raigmore Hospital and a copy to Maggies Highland.

Maybe you should consider publishing your poems as you write some lovely words.

And if just happy share here, that’s a wonderful gift to all of us :folded_hands:

Magnums a good choice even if calorific @Spangleystar

Everything in moderation.

Can’t take credit for YouTube videos.

Think I mentioned the Blood Cancer Keeping Active videos on this site.

May also have mentioned Yoga Burn.

I’m currently doing stuff with resistance bands and a Booty Challenge which is hilarious as I don’t have much of a backside
