Places that you love and lift your spirits

So stunning! Is it ever used for location filming? It could be in the movies!
Yes stoney Sussex for sure! I have to go further east to Camber or further west to The Witterings to get actual sand, although stones aren’t as messy as sand with my dog’s sponge like fur coat

Highlands are generally becoming more popular for filming @Spangleystar

Programmes like Traitors increased profile.

Oddly one time I was driving up to the hospital in Wick for a CT Scan traffic was stopped just outside a little village called Helmsdale as there was some filming taking place.

Population of that village around 750.

Yes I remember having to travel quite a bit to get a sandy beach near Sussex.

Mind you stoney beach sounds perfect for your dog

After a weekend spent visiting my parents back home (Aberystwyth), I was reminded just how much I love the West Wales landscape. These lakes are about a 15 minute walk from my parents’ village, and I used to spend whole days exploring them and the surrounding forests.

So stunning dear @Ceri_BloodCancerUK, hope you had a great time back home. Makes me wish I’d explored more around Aber when my aunt lived there :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes: You may be surprised by how similar the geography there is to the stretch of coast near me, except greener!

Just back from a little break. Rejuvenated.
I’ve seen how good @Duncan and @DuncanB are at identifying places already, but I’m sure many of you may have been here. Who can say where we were?!

Glad you had a little break @Spangleystar and great to hear rejuvenated you

I’m stumped on where you’ve been.

Cliffs might indicate somewhere over Eastbourne way but that’s just an idea.

@Duncan may well be able to name that place

Wow so beautiful @Spangleystar! Lucky you to take a break there. Reminds me of the dunes of Camber Sands, and I do love a good groyne. So glad it rejuvenated you, taking in the sea air sounds so Victorian but it really does help doesn’t it?! Now I fancy a day by the seaside :ocean:

Eastbourne is a good guess @DuncanB not far off!
You are absolutely correct @Duncan we walked the nature reserve up to Rye Harbour - Camber Sands to the east and Pett Level > Hastings to the west.
The sea air, gentle waves and sunshine were all glorious and to top things off we even spotted a little seal bobbing up and down xx

Rye is lovely @Spangleystar

Use to be one of the places I took my mother in law to when she came down to visit when lived in Hove.

Well done @Duncan for naming it correctly
