I have a question to ask. I had leukaemia in 1997 and had a bone marrow transplant. In October last year I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I had 4 cycles of chemotherapy, 20 sessions of radiotherapy and I am now on immunotherapy. Since on immunotherapy my creatinine from the blood test has increased above normal level and my doctor is concerned that it may trigger graph versus host disease from my bone marrow transplant. My doctor told me they haven’t treated patients with immunotherapy that had previously had a bone marrow transplant. I will be interested to hear from anyone that went to a similar treatment for both type of cancer.
Hi @Normand_Howison I just wanted to welcome you to our forum and I hope someone will be able to help you.
I am sorry to hear that you have being diagnosed with two different cancers, albeit many years apart.
I think you really show what unique complex beings we are and consultants tend to just specialise in their own areas of expertise.
If you would like to speak to someone you can contact the Support Services, the link is above, they are very experienced, although unlikely to have medical training.
Take care, it is all so confusing and thoughts change over time, please keep posting.
Hi @Normand_Howison I think Erica has given you sage advice. I’m not sure many of us on here would have had similar experiences but I hope you feel able to offload on us if you need to.
