The Friday Forum Jukebox Club!

Morning everyone. Friday again. Days here in the Highlands definitely shortening.

I thought I would suggest some words as I see the lovely @Ceri_BloodCancerUK has pinned this thread.

Right now I’m busy on my 400,000 Step Challenge during September so it kind of makes sense to suggest Stepping/Steps as one of the words.

So for Stepping I’ll go for Joe Jackson Steppin’ Out

It’s also being a week where some have lost family members and others newly diagnosed. What’s been really noticeable is the support and kind words from everyone.

So second word I’m suggesting is Supporting.

My song choice is At Your Side by The Corrs

Look forward to listening to others choices.

Happy Friday

Hi @DuncanB Thanks for the words, you must have had such a difficult and emotional week with losing family members and others newly diagnosed all at once

My thoughts are

STEPPING - The Proclaimers - I would walk 500 miles - I would walk 500 miles - The Proclaimers (I couldn’t resist this song especially for you @DuncanB !!)

SUPPORTING - Spandau Ballet - I’ll fly for you - Spandau Ballet - I’ll Fly for You (Remastered Audio) UHD 4K

Really look after yourself and great songs

Thank you @DuncanB I am suggesting one song today which could cover both words:-

Hi @Erica

Thanks for your song choices. Two brilliant songs.

I’ve not lost family or had any family diagnosed. Was just referring to other threads on the forum. Sorry if my post caused confusion.

Take care :slightly_smiling_face:

Aw @DuncanB, always so mindful of others—there does seem to be something lossy going about so thank you for naming it. The nights are drawing in here too, but I do love autumn and being able to wear multiple layers of clothing again!

Great word choices as ever! For STEPS I’ll share 15 Step by Radiohead:

For SUPPORTING how about a recent track Father And Son from fellow Scots Boards Of Canada (warning: anti-religiosity sampling):

Thanks for sharing your selections @Duncan

Glad to read you enjoy being able to layer up as it gets cooler and days shorten.

I hadn’t heard either of the tracks.

Went and did a bit of research on Boards of Canada as never heard of them. I see that they originate from Cullen where wife and I visited on our little mini break in the spring

The world gets smaller still @DuncanB, and I love imagining you encountering them at Cullen’s local haunts! I guess both Radiohead and Boards Of Canada have been around long enough to be getting on for classic status, don’t know how they do it :face_with_bags_under_eyes:

Yes it’s amazing @Duncan how some bands seem to stand the test of time.

Takes a lot of commitment I expect

Ha yes that and caffeine! I’d be terrible in a band, I need my early nights these days!
