Hi @jasond, I can see you’ve already received some great advice from our wonderful ‘Duncans’ (thank you @Duncan and @DuncanB), but I wanted to chime in.
Aching legs do come up quite a bit amongst people with Polycythaemia vera ('PV') on the Forum, and there’s even a thread on PV pain tips that might have some useful ideas from members who’ve navigated similar things. And if you scroll to the bottom of this thread and look under the ‘Related’ section, you’ll probably find others too.
I do agree with @Duncan about contacting NHS 111 or your own clinical team, even if the pain subsides - particularly because deep aching in one specific area is something your haematology team would want to know about with Polycythaemia vera ('PV') in the picture.
It’s also worth being aware (as you are) that leg pain can occasionally be linked to a blood clot - so alongside the aching, do watch out for swelling, redness, warmth, or tenderness in the area. Our PV symptoms page has a clear list of what to look out for in terms of other symptoms, and if you notice any of those, please don’t wait - seek urgent medical advice (like calling 999).
Take care,
