Thanks for your kind words @Willow , I’m glad some of the words resonated with you. The waiting was the hardest bit. Waiting to hear what might be news that will change your life and be a massive milestone in your lifes journey.
I’m glad, for me , the wait is over… and the outcome , although worrying, isn’t as bad as it could have been. And I’m thankful that there is a plan being followed to manage the condition.
FYI my temp is all ok now, the Dr couldn’t work out why it spiked… but now I know I’ve had a zillion checks and all is ok (where ok, means, no surprises… neutrophils are a massive 0.05 for me highest they have been for a while!!!)
I will do more poems when my brain let’s me, struggling with a bit of tiredness from the chemo and stuff
Ha phew well if your Consultant also considers you to be realistic @DuncanB… I think that’s been my approach too, although sometimes I’d still rather be up in my fantasies about it all!
I’ve considered the self-publishing route, but you know there are so many English-language publishers dotted about that I’ve been enjoying approaching them and submitting for various competitions and so on. Much of my writing is not about blood cancer (although, I’m sure still infused with all my health concerns) so I’m fortunate to be able to submit to publishers with a focus on, for example, immigration and language, being British, queerness etc.
So true that we all have lived experiences, and I think sharing those here can help us all including folks not ready to post and future forum members.
Indeed @DuncanB, a lot spills out about my travels and travails and then I have the fun of editing and analysing it later to see what on earth I was expressing! I guess I’ll think about taking it seriously if I ever get published
