Turned 50, laid a patio - thought I’d strained something. Doctors, physio, naproxen. Pushed for an MRI after several months of no improvement, a shocking find of multiple large lesions in my pelvis, spine and ribs. GP told me it was cancer but they didn’t know the primary cause, left me feeling like I had months to live with metastatic cancer caused by a tumour they hadn’t yet found. It’s crazy to say but a diagnosis of treatable, if currently incurable cancer, was actually a relief.
At the time of my Light Chain Myeloma diagnosis- I had 75% cancer in my plasma, caused by t(11;14) with MYC rearrangement- Kappa Free Light Chains at 1200 a Kappa/Lambda ratio of 318. I could barely walk due to bone pain. So lucky and grateful it was caught before any renal damage.
On RADAR trial post ASCT, MRD-ve and now on Isatuximab maintenance. All is going well.
Determined for a long remission and to be a mum to my boys until they are grown xx
