Hi
I’m waiting for approval to recieve CAR T-cell therapy ('CAR T-cell therapy ('CAR-T')') therapy. I’m feeling very overwhelmed with everything at the moment. Has anyone been through this treatment and can offer me reassurance regarding the treatment itself and recovery from it please. Jumping off a cliff is looking more attractive right now

I’m sorry to learn about your diagnosis, my heart goes out to you.
I cannot relate to your circumstance - I am not on any treatment - I am on active monitoring for Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia ('CLL') - all though I have started a little complimentary treatment to see how that goes.

Hello there @Patsy1, welcome to the forum. I’m really sorry to read that you’re awaiting approval for CAR T-cell therapy, I imagine the diagnosis that came before that has been a lot to take on. If you’d like to share your diagnosis we can direct to further specific information, but please don’t feel any pressure.

And may I just say, although I’m hoping you’re only joking about that cliff, please know that there can be normal life after diagnosis with these blood disorders. Only 3 years ago I was diagnosed with an incurable type of blood cancer called Polycythaemia vera ('PV') which I thought would be the end of me, but here I am now offering you support because I am proof that we can live through this.

Just to add, please try to tell yourself that diagnoses and their treatments would not be offered if they were not well researched and shown to be beneficial. I’d say try to trust your specialists rather than anything from Dr Google or AI, which tends to generalise and is often inaccurate for us individually.
