I’m a 30 year old male who has some insane symptoms over the past several months.
They include.
Nosebleeds without reason and even after cauterisation it has continued on.
Persistent back pain.
Very bad bone pain especially in the hips and boney areas of my body.
I have lost 1.5 stone in 4 weeks (without trying)
After some persistance my GP has done some results which are the following.
Serum total protein - 82
iGA - 5.4
Serum LDH level - 233
Serum C reactive protein level - 13mg/l
Mean platelet volume - 11.8 fL
Can anyone advise if these results are in the normal range or not? Getting nowhere with the GP.
I have had a pelvic scan and it was clear, but the hip pain and back pain do still persist.
Hello again @lukey55, I’m so sorry to read that you’re getting nowhere with your GP. That would really stress me out so I hope you’re finding ways to relax as you await answers.
Perhaps you might like to speak to the Blood Cancer UK specialist nurses? They can advise on medical details and what you might do to follow up those test results and worrying symptoms. Their number is 0808 2080 888 and you might even see them around the forum offering their wisdom, they’re lovely.
I’m glad your pelvic scan was clear but am sorry about that pain you’re experiencing. Did your GP suggest anything to relieve it? You said previously that they’d mentioned checking for myeloma. Have they changed their tune? I’d get back in touch with them and make sure they offer advice and next steps. No one should live in pain.
If I may be so bold, I might be tempted to get in touch with PALS to liaise with them about issues you’ve shared here.
Sorry not to be able to respond to those test results, they really are so individual to each of us.
