Diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukaemia

I’ve just been diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukaemia, but have no symptoms as yet. It was found after total blood counts showed low neutrophils and monocytes and a bone marrow biopsy confirmed it.

I was very surprised because I feel very healthy and considered that my nutrition was excellent, including several types of fermented foods - hence my username. I am hoping that progression will be very slow, helped by my good microbiome, and will be very annoyed if (probably when!) I have to take antibiotics which will disrupt this.

I understand that this condition is one of the rarest blood cancers. I have found a few posts about it on this forum, but none very recent. If there are still members on the forum with Hairy cell leukaemia (HCL) it would be good to hear from you.

Thanks

Andria
