Just found out we get tired because Essential thrombocythemia (ET) zaps your ferritin levels, but it’s dangerous to top them up as it raises your platelets . Consultant said I could take iron for 2 weeks maximum.
I’m going to take all the vitamins that help with tiredness and hope it helps… Vitamin b, magnesium, folic acid
Anyone know any more?
Evening all, hope everyone is well.
I made the trip to see my 96 year old aunt last Thursday as I was feeling relatively okay. Despite her being mostly housebound she looks well and is probably healthier than I am!
Back to work today and, flip me, it was tough. My legs are absolutely killing me this evening but I’m hoping that they won’t be so achy in the morning. However it was “good” to be back at work and able to see friends and work colleagues, even if it has made me so very tired.
The best analogy that I can give is that when I rest and sleep (whatever that is!), I have a faulty battery cell that prevents me from recharging properly.
Very interested by what @Lynnrobo has said here, but my platelet count is already rising.
Hi
Well this has made me think I wonder if I should stop my Pharmatone caps which I ve taken for
12 years they are an Iron tonic have to ask consultant !! I have chronic myeloproliferative disease = between Essential thrombocythemia (ET) and prefibrotic myelofibrosis Jak 2, 900 > 686 in 6weeks.
Hello, after attending an Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) voice forum, I would like to apologise for my misinformation, people with Essential thrombocythemia (ET) can take ferritin, whoever I spoke to at the hospital gave me misinformation.
