The LC website is back up this morning. To find the meeting scroll down to the Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) listing ( avoiding Chronic myeloid leukaemia!) and register for the meetings. You will then get a Zoom link for the meeting next week.

Hi Erica and Chrissy
I am getting very frustrated as my record at the hospital consistently says I have Chronic myeloid leukaemia I keep telling them I have Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML). When I was in hospital before Christmas the stroke doctor said I have Chronic myeloid leukaemia I pointed out I have Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) and also another annoyance occasionally the record says I probably have Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML). It makes me wonder what would happen if I was unconscious and couldn’t correct this mistake. Perhaps it’s because Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) is a rare condition and Chronic myeloid leukaemia is far more common and it would be easy to make a mistake. At least being on watch and wait there is no chance of being administered the wrong treatment.
Yes I’ve had that one -usually on my blood test form that a GP issues so it doesn’t really matter -much!!!
Fortunately I know I’m coded correctly as Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) on my GP record as I had it confirmed during Covid. I wasn’t receiving the correct NHS letters re eligibility for Covid treatments but the error was with NHS Digital not putting in the code for Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML)! I think the problem is that Myelomonocytic is one word so they abbreviate it to M instead of MM! Duh! Hopefully it isn’t the haematology dept that gets it wrong?! Guess it’s understandable because it’s so rare-as you say!!
These things are sent to try us! But we are having an unexpectedly warm day here today and my potatoes are chitting in the porch ready for planting on St Paddy’s Day next month! So I’m letting the medical frustrations wash over me!
Chrissy
Hi @Unclejack and @ChrissyD, yes, these things are sent to try us.
Perhaps email your consultant and ask for the mistake to be remedied.
I got the email details from my hospital’s website and I was very pleased with the result to my email. I felt so pleased with myself!!!.
Also if I go near a medical facility I wear my Blood Cancer UK tee shirt, which I know would not help your problem @Unclejack unless you had one printed with Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) on it
Best wishes
