Hello
After some reasurrance or advice - currently waiting to see a GP on Tuesday.
I noticed three days after having a IV iron infusion I had a lump come up on the back of my neck rather larger not painful but some what worrisome for me, my father recently diagnosed with terminal cancer I think after caring so much for him the past year I’ve overthought everything due to him being missed a lot in treatment of the NHS. But who are now fantastic and are there every step of the way - the lump oval 2cm painless no symptoms of illness bugs virus eTv just a lump which I cannot stop touching😅 very fatigued (unsure if it’s the low iron.) recent headaches and nausea and abit of a reduced appetite but not sure if it’s stress.
Any ideas looking at it? I think I could have a breakdown lol
Hi @Littlespinkleofanxiety- thank you for taking the time to post on the forum, and welcome!
Given everything you’ve been dealing with while supporting your dad, it makes complete sense that a new lump would set your mind racing. Waiting for a GP appointment when you’re worried is never easy.
I’m glad to read that you’ve got an appointment booked, as that’s absolutely the right next step. Lumps like this can come up for all sorts of reasons, most of them completely unrelated to anything serious, but only someone who can examine you properly can say what’s going on. In the meantime, the fatigue, headaches and appetite changes sound really draining - and yes, stress and low iron can both take a toll.
You might find it helpful to have a look at our general page on blood cancer symptoms, particularly the bit about questions to ask your GP. Not to say that this is what’s happening in your case at all, but because feeling informed can make the wait a bit easier. You’ll also see a Related Topics section at the bottom, which brings up other posts from people with similar worries.
I hope Tuesday brings some clarity and a bit of relief. If you want to, do let us know how you get on.
Take care,
