Hi all,
I am now how, it was definitely a heart attack, going for an angiogram within the next 3 weeks. Being well cared for by hubby and grandson, my wee dog has missed me so much he is sticking to me like glue.
Love to all

Hi Erica,
At the moment I am a bit unsure about how I feel about my diagnosis, especially after being told about the myleofibrosis, so got 2 things flying round my head. Got loads of literature from hospital to try and help me understand things a bit better.

Hi @ladicaz Yes, one diagnosis whizzing round in my washing machine of a brain is enough let alone two.
I am also a bit bemused by too much literature, all the words, it is all too much for me, and they all blur into one.
Personally I would have liked a follow up appointment with a Clinical Nurse Specialist or consultant once I had written down the questions I wanted to ask.
I was only given one booklet which I read avidly and the only words I remembered for my blood cancer were a 5-10yr life expectancy, so I immediately wrote my will and funeral music, that was 17yrs ago.
Perhaps you are still in shock so be ever so kind to yourself and write down all the questions you would like answers to for when you see your medical team.
We are here for you.

I’m not to bad thank you. Hoping my daughters can get the vaccine soon. Think it will help them to relax a little more, as well as me X

I understand that - a lot to take in for you!
I still look back at the hospital literature I was given - it was very useful and helped me organise my thoughts. I then wrote questions based on what I’d read. I did have to read it a few times though!
I hope it is helpful for you X

Hi All,
Going to get angiogram on wed 22nd Sept, waiting time here was 4 to 6 wks but have got a cancellation, so fingers :crossed_fingers:I find out whats causing pain etc, will let you know how it all goes. Has everyone had vaccinations, any over 12s in family getting it, my grandson has had his first dose few wks ago and seems fine, he decided it was better to safeguard me, which was a very mature decision for a 14 yr old.
Take care everyone and please stay safe,
Lots of love

Hi All,
well had my angiogram and found that my arteries are clear which is good news. They think that it is my muscles due to the heart failure.
Take care all and stay safe, to all.

Hi @ladicaz I am glad to hear that your arteries are clear.
Did they think anything needed doing or could be done about your muscles due to the heart failure?
How are you feeling about everything?
What’s the next stage for you?
Yes, look after yourself aand stay safe.

Erica have to go see cardiologist, just waiting for appointment, will keep you all updated, I was feeling sorry for myself after getting angiogram as I thought it was a waste of time, hubby said that I shouldn’t look at it that way as at least arteries were clear, but it was just me feeling sorry for myself. Was in better frame of mind when I left hospital, take care and stay safe all.

Hi all, well what a horrible couple of months I’ve had, was in hospital in Oct due to enlarged spleen, got started on Jakavi also put on steroids for 10 days. Was feeling great for a few days, been double jagged and got booster and flu jag, then ended up with covid, felt rotten on fri and sat after positive pcr test, husband and grandson tested poitive, grandson had no symptoms, hubby lost taste and smell, had a cough and that was all he had. On sunday night I started to feel really cold, was in bed early, hubby kept checking temp it was between 36 and 37 degrees. I cant remember what happened later that night or the early hours, but apparently I started rambling and became very hot, hubby phoned ambulance, when it arrived paramedic checked my temp it was 41 degrees, dont remember being taken away, came to in resus, ended up being kept in for a week due to breathing difficulties and covid pneumonia. Was given antiviral drugs and antibiotics, they seemed to help, when I got home having to only do what I can, not what I want to do. When I hear about others who are on ventilators I realise how lucky was. On plus side, no itching which is great, :crossed_fingers: its gone for good. Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the festive season. Love to all xxxxx

Oh @ladicaz what a time you have gone through, really horrible and scary and all in a couple of months.
I expect it will take you and your husband a while to build back up from Covid.
Especially you with your enlarged spleen to start with and then your Covid incident they must have really taken it out of you.
Be kind to yourselves and please keep posting how you are.
