Sharing A Few Photos From Mini Break

Hope it has been a reasonable week for everyone.

I mentioned on the Friday Forum Jukebox thread that I have just been on a 3 night mini break with my wife on the Moray Coast.

Sharing a few photos which you will hopefully enjoy.

Fortunately nice weather and a nice breeze which kept temperature reasonable for walking

Wow @DuncanB! What a bright, beautiful place in which to take a break, really looks like the edge of the world there. Had to look it up on a map and I can imagine you almost seeing the Orkneys directly north of there, well with remote viewing perhaps, or from the top of that lighthouse on a clear day! I can also imagine fierce sea storms smashing up against those cliffs and greyer days being common! What a gorgeous place, thanks so much for sharing. I’m especially glad that you and your wife got out for a little holiday and the weather was so lovely!

It’s a beautiful coastline @Duncan and one we have only discovered recently.

The lighthouse is at Covesea which is a couple of miles from Lossiemouth. Had a few RAF jets out and about when on this walk.

There was a bit of a breeze but definitely no waves crashing.

My wife who’s geography is better than mine thinks hills would be over on the West Coast.

This photo shows hills if zoom in

Certainly got steps in. Nearly 60,000 over the 3 days which was a surprise and furthest I’ve walked since before Transplant.

It was lovely having a few days away.

Other places we walked to were Cullen and Findochty. The castle ruin on the cliff edge is Findlater Castle. Drove to car park and a short walk.

Glad you enjoyed the pics. Have a great weekend

Thanks @2DB

We have been to Caldey Island lighthouse many years ago when holidaying in Tenby.

Oh my, you two are giving me so many ideas of places to visit! I know how much you love walking @DuncanB, as do I, so I’m really so chuffed your adventures are broadening, lengthening… 60,000 steps is so impressive! Your body remembers :mountain:

Hadn’t heard of Caldey Island, added to my list thank you! Getting out further into Wales, especially the coast, is such a treat. I love lighthouses too @2DB, I’m sure not for any libidinal Freudian reasons, nope
