I am new, and thankful to find the forum. I apologize if I have not quite figured it out. I would like to learn about symptoms. I have not been well since the spring of 2024. My spine really began to hurt, especially my lumbar area. From there it affects my legs and feet. Mostly on one side. There is pins and needles in my legs and feet. Sometimes the pain and heaviness and weakness can cause severe mobility problems. I must also say that an MRI of my lumbar has shown herniated disks. I also am struggling with slow motility, nausea and GI upset. I am finding my appetite is very low and I have lost quite a bit of weight. Three belt holes! My cognition is not as clear as it normally is, possibly from the horrible fatigue I am battling every day. Resting and sleeping is an all to common these days. My vision is blurred to at times. I Would love to know what kind of symptoms one can experience and when. So far I am doing the watch and wait with Monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (Monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS)). My specialist has talked about Multiple Myeloma and Lymphoma to me. Also recently I have dealing with UTI infection that keep coming back, and also a terrible problem with sinusitis that won’t go away. I have also had low grade fever for a few weeks. Night sweats too. Thank you. Teddy.

Good evening @Teddy
Thank you for your post.
We are so sorry to hear that you have not been well and that you are experiencing some symptoms. Monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS) does not usually cause symptoms and therefore would advise informing your team as soon as possible about these. It is best to keep them updated on how you are doing so that they can support you as best they can.
Could we ask if you have been able to speak with your team recently?
If you begin to feel worse we would advise attending your local A&E especially as you have mentioned fevers which could indicate infection.
Our colleagues at Myeloma UK have an information sheet on Monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS) - MGUS Infosheet that may be helpful to read over.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
Take care & warm wishes,
Emma (Support services nurse)
