The Beatles

I’ve been rediscovering the Beatles!

I’m a 60s child, old enough to remember Beatlemania, all those lovely girls screaming!

I went to a boys only school, had no sisters, what an exciting introduction to the fairer sex.

Anyone else, let’s hear it.

So I’ve been thinking what a wonderful song this is

Across the Universe (help, how do you post a YT video??)

Oh lucky you to have lived through the 60s and Beatlemania @d00d! I love the Beatles thanks to my dad, and know Across The Universe. Great song, I love its Indian influences. My dad went to an all boys school too, funnily enough.

Here’s a link to Across The Universe on YouTube: https://youtu.be/90M60PzmxEE

Hello @d00d and @Duncan

Lovely to reminisce using music from our earlier days.

I turned into a teenager as the 80’s started so I am very much influenced by that era, but I have over the years spread my metaphorical wings into other areas of popular and not so popular music

I too went to an all boys school and there a number of records that were prevalent at the time and do relate to the fairer sex, but more recently I discovered Eva Cassidy (perhaps 20 or so years ago) Her songs are extremely calming and lovely to listen to. One track ‘I Know You By Heart’ is a personal favourite. Id love to know what everyone else thinks.

Have a restful weekend folks

Mike

Thought you were going to tell me you loved the smiths! … another great Brit band.

I was pretty young when the Beatles were together but got into their music in the late 70s. Coincidentally, it was an all-boys school for me too.

It was a pity that George’s songs were often overlooked.

Hi

The Smiths weren’t for me - more Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet etc
