I have low grade Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma which doesn’t require any treatment as yet. My consultant has put me on a watch & wait as currently no symptoms. We are off to Mexico on holiday in April but when I declare my condition with all the companies who do specific holiday insurance for people with medical conditions, the prices I’m getting are ridiculous, I’m even only looking at a single trip. Some are double the cost of our actual holiday which is mad.
Has anyone used a company with realistic & affordable prices.

Hi @HeatherB
I haven’t travelled since diagnosis.
I saw another thread on the forum that mentioned some potential options for travel insurance.
Staysure was one I saw mentioned and a lot of people seem to use and recommend Insurewith. I’ve seen people say they were able to get a decent quote with the latter
Hope that helps and you can get something sorted out

Thank you Duncan, I did try them but they wanted £2k for a single trip for me & my hubby. I’ll keep trying & check other chats on the forum.

That’s steep for single trip insurance @HeatherB
You could also reach out to British Insurance Brokers Association as they might be able to find a policy for you

Depending on your age @HeatherB Saga might be an option.
They are Which? Recommend Provider and as I understand it cover pre existing medical conditions

Hello @HeatherB
I’m sorry to read that you are being quoted high prices for travel insurance.
I recently found this very helpful list of ‘Cancer-friendly Travel Insurance Providers’ on the Maggies website, which I thought I should share: Maggies/travel-insurance Not all insurance providers have good knowledge and understanding of cancer types and treatments.
Hopefully there is one listed that you can get a good policy for a good price, so you can enjoy your holiday in Mexico.
Please keep us posted if you manage to get some insurance. (And we’d love a photo of Mexico too
)
Best wishes, Heidi.

Hello @HeatherB
If I’m not mistaken, Blood cancer partnered with Stay sure for travel insurance. Might be worth taking a look at the Stay sure web page for further details.
I’m going to take a look into travel insurance next month as I need a new annual policy. This will be my first policy, post diagnosis, so I will be shopping around for the best deal as long as it has robust cover.
Take care
Mike.

Thanks Mike, I have checked Staysure and still expensive for a single trip, I’m unable to get an annual one. I’m going to call Staysure today to see if I’m answering something incorrectly which is affecting the high cost. Whilst diagnosed I’m currently on a watch & wait prog, no treatment needed as yet Thankfully, I’ll let you know if Staysure were helpful

Hi @HeatherB have you tried Goodtogo? I couldn’t get insurance on a number of sites but i did get one with them. Not cheap but not over the top expensive either.
