Hi My husband was diagnosed with Stage A Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). We are walking a section of the Camino Norde in Spain in 3 weeks and I am unable to get any travel insurance. Can anyone suggest anyone - the stumbling block appears to be the length of time from his diagnosis which is a month. He is on ‘watch and wait’. Any advice would be really appreciated as we want to go on our hols!
Also he has developed a very large bruise that is unexplained- is this part of the illness or just one of those things?
Hi @Katie-J.
I have included some links to chats around this as there will be suggestions on different companies people use.

This is the Blood Cancer UK information sheet which may help as well.

I have just been in touch with Staysure having seen this and unfortunately they do not want to insure us. I asked about the fact that they were partnered with Blood Cancer UK and still they just said they couldn’t insure my husband who has Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)! So disappointed!
Hi , they would not provide insurance for my husband either. I have insured with ‘Freedom’ and they have been brilliant from start to finish. Hope this helps!
Thank you for sharing your experiences around using Staysure.
It’s disappointing to hear that you were refused cover. I just wanted to let you that we are feeding back on the experiences of forum members around this so that our colleagues can pass on concerns and suggestions to Staysure.
But, if you would like to get in touch directly about this you can do this by emailing feedback@bloodcancer.org.uk
All the best,
Tom
