Hi. As I come to the end of cycle 9 of 12 cycles of treatment for Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), I’m finding that the side effects seem to be getting worse. I started my treatment at the beginning of January with 6 cycle of obinutuzumab, which finished in May. Also in January I was started on daily venetoclax treatment, starting on a low dose rising to the full strength 4 x 100mg tablets.
I started to see skin lesions on my back during cycle 6 and these are now all over my body. They also cause itchiness. I also take medication daily to counter nausea and I’m tired most days.
My consultant has seen these and they appear to be a reaction to venetoclax. My GP has also been very supportive prescribing suitable creams to sooth and mosturise the skin, along with a strong daily antihitamine tablet. All of this doeshave an adverse effect of my mood.
I next see my consultant at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre on Monday and will obviously be discussing this with her. She has been excellent and very supportive. However, I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has been affected with similar side effects. Thanks, Jim
