As we go through treatment there’s so many things to think about.
Often it’s simple things that make a huge difference.
For me one of the concerns I had starting treatment was swallowing pills. I’ve always struggled with this.
The Consultant who admitted me suggested something that was a game changer for me.
Take your pills with yoghurt. Worked perfectly.
Still do that for my evening pills.
In the morning I take my pills with porridge. Sounds weird I know but definitely helps.
Wonder what others have found helped them as they go through treatment

@DuncanB, another great thread - thank you!
I actually kept a blog throughout diagnosis and treatment, and that was immensely helpful - I was only 30 when diagnosed, so didn’t feel I had anyone around me who really ‘got’ what I was going through. Having that outlet, and then meeting other young people going through similar experiences, really was a mental life line.
Also, anything with ginger in it really got rid of that chemo ‘metal mouth’ for me. I ended up making a load of mini ginger cupcakes to take to the ward to share!

Thanks @Ceri_BloodCancerUK
Blogging is a great way of getting things down on paper and as you say building connections with like minded people.
People really don’t have the same level of understanding of blood cancers as they do of others in my experience.
Mind you before diagnosis I was very much the same.
Love tip about ginger and how it helped. Bet the ward enjoyed the cupcakes
Thanks for sharing
