Active Cherry and Asprin

I’ve been told that active Cherry is good for gout pain and preventing it. Im currently taking 75mg of asprin to thin my blood. I’ve just read that the Cherry can effect the blood thinners. Has anyone got any advice about this?

Hi @Witaz74. Sorry I can’t help you. Have you had a chat with your team? I’ll copy in the @BloodCancerUK_Nurses as well as they may be able to help. How are you keeping otherwise?

Just trying to come to terms with the diagnosis to be honest.

The diagnosis is always so difficult and it’s so much to process.I can imagine your emotions are all over the place. I remember it like yesterday! What diagnosis have you been given? (Sorry if you’ve already said and I’ve missed it)

Hi @Witaz74 a great big welcome and I can hardly follow @Nichola75 great reply.
Yes I was given my diagnosis 19 yrs ago and I can also replay the day as if it were yesterday.
I, not medically trained, would say that you cannot underestimate the effect of shock.
Do you have any support?
As for the question you ask it really is one for a member of your medical team.
I would say to really look after yourself, be kind to yourself and keep posting, I look forward to hearing more about you

Hello @Witaz74
Thank you for posting. May I ask whether you have managed to speak to your Haematology team (Doctor or Clinical Nurse Specialist) about your gout and the considerations around this? If your gout is troubling you I would recommend speaking to them or your GP.
I have done a bit of research and it is not totally clear if active cherry does contraindicate the workings of aspirin but it is definitely worth asking a Doctor or your local pharmacist.
