Thanks so much @Toadmum
It goes both ways, Danae is always asking me about the ‘regulars’ on here and how everyone is doing.
Hope all is well with your husband, you and your family
Take good care xx
Hello lovely people
How is everyone doing? @Toadmum - just read your update, great news and we send love and positive wishes.
Guess who I have home for a bit..? . Yes! Danae is home from Uni. It is my birthday tomorrow so it is lovely to have her home to spend some time together.
She has been working hard at Uni and is on course to finish dissertation. We have a graduation date of 22nd July. I can’t begin to tell you how much that means.
We hope that life is treating everyone out there kindly. Danae asked about you all last night when she got home. @Erica - you were first person she wanted to check in on
Will sign off for now. Take care care guys and catch up soon.
Sending love and positive thoughts
The DD xx
Oh proud @SarahMum firstly a very happy birthday, which I think is still for tomorrow.
I find birthdays often bring back memories of birthdays previous for me.
Welcome home Danae and have an absolutely wonderful time together.thanks for asking about me, you must be telepathic..
I am a bit of a disaster area, who said ‘older and wiser’?
I feinted near the end of the Parkrun on Saturday and scraped a bit of my face ( and also bruises only I can see, but are impressive and sore)
Also I have had further freezing treatment on a re-concurring pre cancerous place on my face.
All I shall say is that I look worse than I am!!!
Happy birthday again @SarahMum
Enjoy yourselves my DD xx
Oh no . We are soooooo sorry to hear this @Erica . Do look after yourself and take things easy
We both send love and hope you feel better soon.
The DD xx
Hello @Erica. I really am so sorry to hear all you are going through! To even attempt Parkrun is incredible but fainting must have been awful and frightening, apart from the physical injuries. I am also aware that you are waiting for test results. Please look after yourself, Erica, and perhaps take the next Parkrun at a gentler pace. Sending my warmest wishes to you. You are such a great support to us all. Thank you. Thinking of you very much. Willow x
Oh @Willow thanks for your caring post.
I have decided that my walking the Parkrun days are over, so an extra half hour in bed on a Saturday.
My test results are still a couple of weeks away.
How are you doing now?
I am concerned about you too!!
Really look after yourself and be ever so kind to yourself
Hi lovely peeps
How is everyone doing out there. I am stopping by to say, check out @BloodCancerUK’s social media today (Facebook and Instagram). You may see some people you know…
Just spotted you both! Brightened my day and I practically sprinted to log in here!
Oh, You were the first in my Facebook feed, how absolutely lovely, made my day, what a brilliant team you are.
Really look after yourselves
Hello everyone
I hope everyone is doing the best they can. I am stopping by with a quick update. All is good here. Danae’s last biopsy returned MRD negative. I am very thankful .
Danae has handed in all of her degree assignments and will know the outcome on the 4th July. She is cracking on applying for lots of jobs but no success so far. I am astounded how challenging the job market is out there atm.
I am so looking forward to attending her graduation on the 22nd July. That will be a day of soooooo many emotions. Probably best summed up by my gorgeous girl in her dissertation acknowledgments.
We still think of you all often Take each day as it comes and look forward to any updates.
Sending love and positive vibes
The DD xx
Thanks @SarahMum and Danae great news and July is going to be some month for both of you.
As for the job market, well I know I would never got a job in this day and age.
Many years ago I applied for over 250 jobs before I landed one which actually was just where I needed to be with the commitments I had at the time. Don’t let it get you down Danae and if you need a reference then I’m your girl.
You have overcome so much in the last few years.
Please keep updating us as you both mean so much on here, you DD.
Sending loads of positive vibes back to you both
Seconding Erica! This is incredible. So chuffed on the result for you both, and what beautiful words for the dissertation.
What industry / area is she looking for in the job hunting? Happy to help if I can, too!
Oh Danae your acknowledgements hadn’t whizzed across the miles when I posted last night.
They are so beautifully worded I have tears pouring down my face here.
I cannot comment on them as you have said it all.
Finally @SarahMum yes, a mum like you deserves all the recognition in the world, and you did it, Danae.
In the words of Rod Stewart ‘Live the life you love and love the life you live’
Awww thanks @Toadmum . Her degree is English and Linguistics. She is looking for communication roles. She wants a fab salary and excellent pension!
. I love that I have a daughter who is already considering her pension. It didn’t come into play for me for years so this impresses me lots
What an incredible tribute @SarahMum to all those who have supported and been there for Danae! I am so pleased and impressed that she has acknowledged her own strength and resilience in overcoming and completing the degree. Congratulations to you all! Willow x
Hi All
How is everyone doing? Just had the best week with Danae home . We did a grand tour of a local vineyard sampling 6 of their delicious wines.
The next day was degree results day. Danae got a First! . I am so proud of her! After all that headed her way and she still managed to get a First. We have been out and about enjoying the weather and celebrating with friends
So now let’s bring on graduation on the 22nd July! She truly is some woman!
Hope everyone is doing okay out there. Look after yourselves.
Signing off today as one very proud Mum xx
Oh @SarahMum (one quite rightly very proud Mum) and Danae (one officially very clever girl) oh, thank you so much for sharing one of the bestest days of your lives (and mine).
Whoopee, whoopee I know you 2 well enough to expect there is a great big celebration in order.
I shall raise my hot chocolate to the West tonight and you have made my day.
Thanks so, so much for letting your blood cancer family know.
Incredible!! Congratulations to Danae and credit should go to you too @SarahMum for all the support you have given your daughter! So glad you can celebrate together. Willow xx
