Are antibodies enough?

I am Essential thrombocythemia (ET) and on hydroxycarbamide which we know is not a great help in getting antibodies through vaccination (at least not the first jab). But after 3 jabs I had quite a lot of antibodies. Does that mean I am ( or was) fairly well protected? Or could my immunosuppressive drug stop the immune system from working?

Hi @jumbo4. This is the most recent info I can find on the BCUK website and discusses your question.

@Alice_BloodCancerUK, is there anything else you could share?

Haven’t checked this out any further, but some time back Prof Adam Meade from Oxford suggested that Hydroxycarbamide had relatively little immunosuppressive effect. Have not checked more recently.
