Oh @Erica, I see, he’s not the best role model. I’m going to order a vaulting horse and fill my trousers with soil. Could be tricky as on the third floor but only people of a certain age will understand that one anyway!. Three prisoners escaped using this method as I saw the film the other day!! @Nichola75 so hoping that end of the week will be home day.

Hi @Danmar, I have Dr. Sternberg here, he’s pretty lovely too!
Sorry that you are feeling scundered, sounds hard going. I guess you have to think it’s all to get you to that transplant. The Revlimid is a maintenance therapy here after the SCT so hope it’s tolerable for both of us when we get to that point.
Roll on 20th September. @ChrisCKW, you sound so much better which is fantastic. Hope Dr Crawley appreciates a well shaped head…xx

I’m in! @Erica Yes please xxx

@Lyn99 ah the days of well turned ankles, now replaced by well shaped heads :joy:
Slight concern about kidney function still but neutrophils rising too (slowly but rising!) and platelets also rising slowly but they see all of it as indications that bone marrow might be working.
I suspect that until the kidneys are happy I’ll be here, but I think they are toying with end of this week early next as target.
Summertime you will be in good hands when you get here - but don’t bring bird food we are on 10th floor (very top) and windows don’t open :relaxed:

Ha ha @ChrisCKW I won’t!
So pleased you are showing signs of the sct working, isn’t it strange to think all these months prep and you are now there. I spoke to Clare cowling at Addenbrookes today ( did you meet her?), she said my donor is on holiday until next but committed so hopefully I will hear about a date next week sometime🤞.
Nice to hear the staff are nice and friendly.
What are you doing to keep busy?
xx

Keeping my fingers crossed that you escape soon to :crossed_fingers:

Yes I met Claire several times - the whole team is really efficient and pleasant; and the staff on the ward are just lovely
It’s a difficult treatment but they make it as gentle as they can x

Hi @ChrisCKW I am just looking at the emojis that you have used and laughing.
Initial signs looking promising for you.
It must be so hard without the windows opening, are they worried that you are going to get contraband brought in by drone?
You would need a lot of bedsheets to tie together to make a getaway from the 10th floor.
Look after yourself and keep posting. xx

@ChrisCKW that’s brilliant news that the transplant is starting to work, I’m so pleased for you. I have had a few bags of platelets so far but neutrophils are on the rise (thankyou donors whoever you are ) I think the toxins in the chemo and the antibiotics hit your kidneys and liver pretty hard. I know you aren’t supposed to drink alcohol for quite some time afterwards, to allow them to recover, how depressing. :sob: I have been given Thursday as release day all being well. Lots of Love and keep that head shined. I thought I would look like Uncle Fester but I’m the spitting image of Greg Wallace. I might do some Celebrity appearances when I come out, no-one will know the difference:rofl: xx

@lynn99, as summertime says Greg Wallace celebrity appearances sounds a real giggle.
Thinking if neutrophils and kidneys stay progressing I might be out over weekend!! Xxxx

Think the rooms are isolation rooms so only vented air in. No outside unfiltered air.
But drones are a great idea.
I did hope after the nuclear medicine tests that maybe I would develop Spider-Man powers, sadly no. :relaxed:
Xxxx
Ps results on ultrasound on kidneys all good :+1:t3:

@ChrisCKW great news on the kidneys. I’m so hoping that we will both be home for the weekend :slightly_smiling_face: I spent a good hour researching non alcohol wine today and spent £30.00 on 3 bottles arriving tomorrow so we should be able to celebrate the homecoming in style! More platelets today and will be back in on Tuesday for blood tests and consult. They certainly keep tabs on you once you leave but that makes me more confident. I don’t feel like I have been away since the beginning of August but these last few days have felt endless. I like the idea of new spidey powers, I think they may take a while to develop. Just to be on the safe side don’t do any high rise climbing until you master the wrist action. Greg sends his love xx

Hi @Lyn99, @ChrisCKW and @Summertime.
@Lyn99 Greg Wallace celebrity appearances sound lucrative to me, much better, and more potentially lucrative, than the Uncle Fester look. I bet everyone feeds Greg Wallace too.
I am following all your test results and potential release dated avidly and sending you all so much love xxx

Hi Danmar, I am pretty good atm. Seeing consultant on thurs so hopefully I will get a new date. I feel pretty normal as off chemo now except for imatinib daily. I have managed to see some friends and family while I am well so that’s been nice.

How are you doing? Xx

Hi@Summertime. That’s great you’re getting a wee break and able to see friends and family. I have another 3 weeks on this oral Chemo I’m just pretty fed up at the minute and now don’t have a date or any idea when the transplant will go ahead. I think because I was told initially it would be late May early June and because of Covid they were behind with their transplants then because of the wait the Myeloma became active again. But I guess I will just have to be patient. Enjoy your “feeing good time “ :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
