I agree - I think you’ve definitely had enough drama. It must’ve been a really difficult and challenging time for you and your family.
I think two days is perfect. It still gives you lots of time to do what you enjoy whilst getting a change of scenery and enjoying some interaction with others!
Please let us know how you get on! Good luck and take care!
Oh @sajdee, how tragic to loose your brother just before the first lockdown, then being furloughed and redundancy.
Then your eldest son flying out to America to study for a year or two, let us know how he gets on.
I expect you have had so many emotions in the last 18mths.
Working for a local car dealership sounds great and two days a week sounds as if it will work well for you.
I really look forward to hearing all about it.
Look after yourself, returning to work can be quite draining.
Thank you so much Erica & Nichola75. I will let you know how I get on, how I feel and how our son is getting on with his studies. There seems to be a real shift with everything atm which I’m hoping can only be a good thing!
You all take care and speak soon.

Yes I have had root canal treatment. As it was some weeks after my zometa my team said it was ok. Apart from jaw ache having to lay there for an endless time Dentist was happy with result although may have to be crowned in future. Hope to be back to my Zometa infusions in a couple of weeks. Thank you for asking
I’m doing well at the moment. Bloods every 8 weeks with Zometa infusion. Try to keep positive. Lucky to have all my family within 15 minutes of where I live. Best wishes to you and take care x
@Olliet great to hear that you have had your root canal treatment and that you hope to be back on your Zometa infusions soon.
It does make you grateful to have your family so close doesn’t it.
Take lots of special care of yourself and please keep posting.
It’s so great that you have your family close by. It really does make a difference doesn’t it! X
Hi Erica,
First, I hope you are keeping well and wish you a Happy Xmas and New Year. You may remember me during lockdown and like you, I have Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and I am on “Watch and Wait”.
Well I am writing because I came across a response you made to Sajdee regarding dental work a few years ago. Unfortunately, I have been advised by a Periodontist to see my dentist and have some bridge work removed and to have teeth taken out, as you have had regarding teeth removal.
This is scheduled for mid-January, but now have been asked to contact my Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) Consultant, as the dental surgery wants written confirmation that it is safe to do this dental work at the dental surgery, where I have asked for sedation. (This is because I am a nervous type of person.) Additionally, in the past, as a child and also some 30 years ago, 17 years before I got Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), when having teeth out, I had bleeding problems after dental surgery, even a couple of weeks later. Perhaps that is making the dentist nervous as well.
My questions are, did you have to go to a dental hospital for this work to be done, as this might be the case if the dental surgery is not happy about any reply my Consultant might give. (I only found out about the dentist’s reluctance very late yesterday (Friday) afternoon and due to Xmas coming up, I doubt if this will be sorted until after the New Year, despite my surgery scheduled for mid-January.)
Additionally, were you given antibiotics after your teeth were extracted - I presume dentists have these around and one does not have to get a prescription at a chemist? Any information you can give would be most appreciated.
I hope that you are still on “Watch and Wait” and are keeping well.
Kindest regards,
Lulu999 x
Hi @Lulu999.
I hope others can share their experiences with you
It’s good that your dentist is checking things but is a pain that it might slow things down, especially being this time of year when trying to contact anybody is extra difficult.
I hope you get things sorted. Please keep us updated on how you are doing and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas X
Thanks Nichola and Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you as well.
Oh @Lulu999 how absolutely lovely to hear from you again.
I had my 6-7 teeth out in 2006.
My NHS dentist referred me to a local private specialist dentist. He worked with my GP and consultant/
It was done under local anaesthetic.
I had a course of antibiotics before, during and after which the GP gave me prescriptions for.
I had top and bottom partial dentures which I am still wearing today.
They would not even consider implants because of the risk infections
Yes, I am well, thanks.
Please do let us know how you get on.
Really look after and be very kind to yourself
Hi Erica,
Thanks for your reply. On Monday, will ask my Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) Consultant, via his secretary if she is in, to write a letter to my Dentist about my Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) condition. I hope I do not have to go into hospital to get the dental work done, as that would no doubt be another waiting list situation.
Have been trying to get things sorted since about June, but things were delayed as first of all, the dental surgery lost three dentists that I had seen on the trot. Then I had booked a holiday break in advance and was not available, then a crate fell on me and I was having walking difficulties, then a bad bout of vertigo, which I now have again, although not so bad. So I was pleased I was offered a January appointment, but then it seemed that the dental surgery got “cold feet” and put me through some more stress! I hope they do not postpone due to other health problems that I have.
Will let you know what will happen and I hope I will not have to cancel my January appointment - everything else has had to stop or be changed because of this. Dental surgeries, like GP surgeries, are just as chaotic - at least in our area.
I suppose it is good that the dentist is checking things out, but I want this sorted. If it had not been due to lockdown, it would have been sorted a few years ago and having teeth out might not have been necessary. Will keep you informed and thanks for your advice and for being there.
Kindest regards
