Blood results being stubborn

Thank you for this , it’s really helpful
I like this way of thinking about things and you are completely right. It changes nothing in terms of what I am experiencing, I have cancer and that is what is making me feel how I do
Going to remind myself of this going forward
I try to live my life each day and do positive things so pausing this for this short section of it is not helpful
Many thanks
Take care

@DottieB the interesting thing about Polycythaemia vera (PV) and other blood cancers, is it has the ability to affect our mental thinking and therefore our emotions.
Blood cancer has an all access pass to all of our body, so a lack of good oxygen to the brain, stress responses, the brain trying to protect itself, the heart shouting like the little train climbing up the steep slope, blood being recalled from it’s outer reaches faster than the Roman army across the empire and is it any wonder we react like we do?
Good luck with the new out look and chase up the blood results and pray Yodel have not got the mail contract, if so ask your hospital to check their roofs, outhouses, gardens and behind the bins, failing that, ask Doreen at number 50 who takes in all the parcels as they can park outside her house

Dear @DottieB
Thank you for posting and it is understand that you are asking for time scales in receiving your blood test results. May I ask who requested your bloods? Was it your GP or Haematology team? I ask that as it may take longer to get the results back to the GP. immunoglobulins can take 7 working days but it does depend on the laboratory.
I would suggest chasing them with the Health Care Professional who ordered the bloods after 2 weeks.
Take care

Hi @GemmaBloodCancerUK
Thank you
It’s my haematology team , I am monitored by post due to being on watch and wait .They send a pack out every six months and I go get the bloods taken and I post them back
These are my first monitoring ones since diagnosis and I am not sure how I feel about this process but am being positive and will chase them up
Thanks

Hi @DottieB Just in case we have not sent you this before I will send you the Blood Cancer UK link to ‘watch and wait’ or ‘active monitoring’
It can bring up a load of thoughts and emotions.
I have been on it for 20 yrs and I count myself a very lucky girl
Active monitoring (watch and wait) | Blood Cancer UK
Please do let us know how you get on.
Be kind to yourself I still get anxious before during and after tests and results

@DottieB thanks for asking still a lot of waiting around and uncertainty and under a lot of different ‘ologists’ departments at the hospital’
GP practice is brilliant

Hi everyone,
hope you’re all as well as you can be !
Just a quick update on blood results, still haven’t received them , I have been advised my lymphocytes are stable but no other details and so am awaiting the reports
I am not sure if I should be worried or think that if there was an issue I would have heard something earlier :joy:
Anyway, take care

Hi @DottieB , I always pop into my GP surgery and request a copy of my results with no probs.
Perhaps if it is the hospital that took my blood samples then perhaps a call to your specialist nurse, if you have one, to ask the questions you need to know. Or contact you consultant.
I hope I have helped you. Please do come back if I have got the wrong end of the stick.
Look after yourself

Thanks so much @Erica
It’s the watch and wait monitoring service my hospital use who do the testing .I have emailed the lovely specialist nurse there so many times I feel like I am just being a pain now .She advised that the report needed signing off before the Easter bank holidays so have left it .I was hoping they would arrive today but no such luck
How are you ? I hope you are well
Thanks again for your lovely support and responses
