Bone marrow cancer blood test

Hi I saw the haematologist because of my symptoms and my blood work being off for years but nothing ever got done!
I’m wondering if someone could explain what the doctor has wrote in my letter. I will copy in the bit. When I asked the doctor what he was testing me for he said bone marrow cancer. ( he wasn’t going to tell me) when he was asking me questions and I was agreeing to what he was asking he kept looking at the nurse! He will do some test and have me back in 8 weeks, I have 3 weeks to go it has dragged. I constantly feel poorly, fatigue, easy bruising and my bloods regarding the bruising is all ok.
Also the doctor I saw was a specialist doctor, when I go back for my results I’m seeing a specialist consultant. I’m really worried. I don’t rslly have anyone to talk to. My mum doesn’t get it all she keeps saying is wait for the results! Try not to worry and when I try to talk about it she ignores it!
I will copy the bit of the letter below

Miss reported a long-standing history of general fatigue and feeling unwell for the past 15 years.

She describes experiencing dizziness, episodes of altered generalised pins and needles, intermittent night sweats, and frontal headaches. Additionally, she reports weakness in her hands and legs, intermittent blurred vision, and joint pains. has a background history of recurrent chest and urinary tract infections requiring antibiotic

On reviewing her previous results, I have noted that her white cell count (WCC) has been raised since at least 2014 and this is intermittently raised and ranges between 11 to 20 x 10%L.

The neutrophils have also been raised since at least 2016 with a range between 7 to 12 x 10%L.

My impression is that she has chronic intermittent leucocytosis and neutrophilia with macrocytosis, possibly reactive in the context of her multiple symptoms. I have explained the results to Miss L and I have requested the following investigations to further evaluate the underlying cause.

I have requested JAK-2 and BCR/ABL mutation analysis, urine sample analysis, chest x-ray and MRI of her brain, in view of her neurological symptoms.

Thank you

A great big welcome @whatdayisit007. I hope you will not need us.
Unfortunately we are not qualified to give opinions on test results on our support forum.
We are all very unique individuals with complex medical histories.
I was diagnosed with a blood cancer 21 yrs ago and I have never learnt medical speak.
However what I certainly relate to is the waiting and not knowing. and it can feel never ending.
I have found if a specialist orders tests they will never tell me anything until all the results are back so they a complete picture.
Yes, others often do not get it, it is not their fault, and that is why our support forum is so valuable as we do get it.
Please do let us know how you get on, and if you have any fears, questions and practicalities you want to ask perhaps write them down now ready.
The Blood Cancer UK support line is there for you on 0808 2080 888.
Be ever so kind to yourself and really look after yourself waiting and not knowing is not nice
