I was diagnosed with Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) with Essential Thrombocythemia just over a year ago. I was put on Hydroxycarbamide, with the dose being regularly adjusted depending on my blood results. Has anyone else had this diagnosis? Id like to hear from anyone who is in the same situation as myself
Welcome to the forum and thank you for taking time to reach out.
I’m so sorry to learn of your circumstance, and truly hope that reaching out and engaging with others who have Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML)) and / or other types of blood cancer ( I am a Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)) patient) will give you some comfort. I can speak from experience I have found the forum very supportive.
I’m unfamiliar with with Hydroxycarbamide myself as my circumstance is that i am on active monitoring following my diagnosis in April this year, so as of yet I’ve not been given medication, but I am confident you will find lot of people who can relate directly to your situation, by searching for the same at the top of the forum page you will be able to see previous posts.
Please do feel free to let us know how things are going, we are always here and happy to engage with you when ever you feel comfortable to do so.

Thank you for your reply Mike. I have been trying to find a forum like this where I live in Australia, with no luck so far, so I hope it’s ok for me to continue to post on this one.
My situation is this. I was initially diagnosed with idiopathic thrombocytosis, with my platelet count bouncing between 600 to 1200 over the last 3 years. I had a bone marrow biopsy in May last year which showed I have Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) stage 1. My haematologist has so far been more concerned with the thrombocythemia side of things, dismissing any symptoms or concerns about Chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML). So you can see why I feel the need to reach out to others in similar situations. I have been feeling dizzy and extremely tired, but I’m not sure if that is the disease or the treatment that is causing it.
