Failed stem cell transplant

my husband 59 years old was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) 2022 after many rounds of chemotherapy which relapsed after 3 months was thankfully given a stem cell transplant in March this year. Last week the heart breaking news stem cell failed given 6-10 months to live. Drs have said no cure but can try to lower white cell count for as long as possible. As a family we are struggling with this devastating news after all my husband has been through and fought .

Firstly @TeddyBoy29 Welcome to our forum, I am glad that you have found us, but I am so sorry about the circumstance.
I cannot imagine what you are all going through, especially after your husband has been through so much already.
Please do use us as a space where you can really say what it is like for you.
The Blood Cancer UK support line is also there for you on 0808 2080 888.
Look after and be very kind to yourselves and perhaps do nice things together.
Please keep posting, I will be thinking about you, it might well be so difficult with Christmas/New Year and birthdays coming up. xxx

Dear @TeddyBoy29
Welcome to our forum, although I am so sorry for the reasons that have brought you here. I can only imagine how devastated you must all feel.
I wanted to just echo what @Erica has said, please use this space to talk and offload, we are very much here to support you.
Have they offered some treatment to try to control the disease?
Perhaps you may find it helpful to give us a call to talk things through? Our phoneline in open and you can reach us on 0808 2080 888.

Take of each other,
Heidi J (Support Services Nurse)

Just an additional thought @TeddyBoy29. We do have a clinical trials service here at Blood Cancer UK, I have attached some information here Clinical Trials Support Service | Blood Cancer UK. If you wanted to talk to one of the team please complete a referral form and they will be in touch - Blood Cancer UK Clinical Trials Support Service referral | Blood Cancer UK
I can’t say if there will be anything out there but sometimes it helps to talk to someone and know you have covered all possible options.
Best Wishes,
Heidi J (Support Services Nurse)
