Hi, Been away for a little time and would love to help anyone that has experienced the loss of a loved one through cancer/leukemia. I still struggle even though its been nearly 30yrs since she passed away. when i go to the cemetery and just look at the headstone and think why? when leaving 3 young children! My sons are all ok but so difficult when it comes to Mothers Day… And sometimes i feel so guilty that i haven’t tried my best with them and mum would have done a better job.
Hi @Dave1.
I’m sure ofhers would love to connect. It’s so important to have a space to share experiences with people isn’t it.
I can see just how hard it still is for you.
As parents we all question whether we have done our best but as you say, your boys are ok and that to me means you have done a good job
Hi @Dave1 good to hear from you again and thanks for offering to help others who have experienced the loss of a loved one to blood cancer.
You show so clearly how you never ‘get over’ a bereavement you just evolve to managing to live along beside it.
So many thoughts, questions and feelings sound very natural to me.
As a parent I also feel guilty about aspects of bringing up my son, and he is 50 yrs old now, I am not perfect and we do not have a manual.
I think what you might be able to bring to our forum is what we all do by sharing our experiences.
Be kind to yourself and really look after yourself
