Had my first appointment today with a Hematologist. I did get to ask any questions.
Every time l tried he cut me off. He did ask me any questions.
He said it was a fluke l been diagnosed which was not true l had felt unwell for over year. I had fatigue, trouble breathing and sweating and other symptoms.l had been to GP many. He said he could have Leukemia and would know it.
I had a blood test and was given an appointment for 6 months time unless my blood test had changed.
I was very upset and decided l want go back as it’s pointless.
Hi @Buttie It must have felt horrible today.
Not patient centred as it should be.
Do you want to do something further?
Perhaps you might want to take someone with you to your next appointment.
Perhaps you might wish to write a letter to the haematologist with your thoughts, what you felt was untrue and what you want as an outcome
Perhaps you might consider contacting the hospital’s PALS (Patient Advice and Liasion Service)
Perhaps you might consider a referral to another haematologist or hospital.
You do not have to do anything, it is up to you entirely.
Really look after and be very kind to yourself and please do let us know how you get on.
Hi Erica l am okay. I am a retired nurse.
In six months l will go private to Edinburgh.
Nothing happened when you complain.
My Husband went with me. You could see he had a face like a smacked bottom. He should be in Parliament then he could claim his money and sleep.
Glad you have a plan @Buttie really look after yourselves and please do keep posting
