The trial referred to in the article is the OPTIMUM (Myeloma UK MUK nine) study, which looked at whether a more personalised, risk-adapted treatment approach could improve outcomes for people with high-risk myeloma. Long-term follow-up from the study has shown some very encouraging results, with participants living longer than would typically be expected with standard treatment.
