One week to go…and now it seems too close. Will we be like Zombies as we emerge back onto an unsuspecting world??? our eyes as wild looking as our untamed grey/white locks??? My youngest son is alone in his flat, and had grown a beard which really suited him. Last night he shaved it off, much to the disgust of myself, his sister, and nephew and niece.
STOP PRESS Although my GP added me to the vulnerable list (heart and lung issues post SCT eleven years ago) I did wonder whether I was on the national list…but I have just received my update letter. I am pleased that Matt and i are obviously on first name terms as he just signed it Matt
Hi @Pisces56, When I read your first paragraph I really felt shielding had got to you. Yes, I just got my Gov letter from our mate Matt and have digested all 4 pages. One more week to go, spooky.
Erica, apart from missing my children / grandchildren I am quite happy where I am. There seems so much craziness and selfishness out there, when I thought we would be more tolerant. What happened to “We are all in this together?” I have a distant relative in Victoria, Australia, where they have had to reimpose lockdown in her daughter’s neighbourhood, and her daughter is having her 3rd child in 2 months
I agree it is just family and friends I miss, otherwise I am quite happy and safe here too.
When we originally went into isolation/lockdown I wrote to friends in Australia and 2 months later they received my letter saying they were surprised to receive it as they felt aeroplanes were not flying into Australia. We await.
