A great big welcome @Nett to our support forum I am so glad that you have found us.
It sounds to me as if you are doing all the right things and that you are going to talk to your haematology nurse today.
I have to write down all my fears, questions and practicalities down first and my symptom, when it came about, it’s severity and impact on my life.
I have also learnt to be pleasantly assertive.
Please do let us know how you get on and the Blood Cancer UK support line is also there for you on 0808 2080 888.
Be very kind and really look after yourself.
Hi @Nett - welcome to our forum - you’ve come to the right place
I’ve been living with Chronic myeloid leukaemia for almost 13 years and am now medication free under close monitoring. I too experienced some side effects when I started on Imatinib. I didn’t have swelling, but I did have joint and bone aches in the initial period, but this subsided after a few weeks or so.
We are all unique in terms of our journeys and what we experience. So as @Erica said, you are doing all the right things. Never be afraid to note and update your team on all the symptoms you are experiencing.
Let us know how your call with your nurse goes and keep us posted on how you are feeling or if you have other questions. I’m very happy to share more of my story, if it’s helpful to you.
Take care,
Maggie
