Lymphoma

Hi I’ve just been told I’ve got high grade lymphoma they thought I cervical cancer as there is a growth a across my cervix and blocking the right tube from my kidney. The biopsy came back with lymphoma instead I know it’s in the front , back and groin lymph nodes. I’m meeting with the hematology doctor this week and I’m so scared what they will say and what to expect next

Hi @Shiv40 and a big welcome to the forum.

You must still be feeling so shocked. It’s hard to process it all isn’t it. I know when I was diagnosed with low grade Lymphoma, my emotions were all over the place and my thoughts were overwhelming at times. I was worried about what would come next, googled like crazy (not the best idea) and just went in to panic mode. This forum was a life saver and here you’re find people who really understand.

im really glad you don’t have to wait too long for your appointment. Some practical advice; if you can, take somebody with you to the appointment. It was all a bit of a blur to me and I was glad my husband was there to ask my questions (which I’d written down) and take in the answers. No question is too small so if you want to ask it, then do.

The link below just gives some info on what you might expect at the first appointment,

The journey is different for everybody. However, feeling and worries are often the same which is why it’s so helpful to be here with people who understand.

The helpline is great if you feel it would help to talk things through at any time.

Please take good care of yourself. It’s not easy but we are all here for you. Have you got a good support network around?

Please keep us updated on how your appointment goes X

Oh @Shiv40 gosh I expect you can’t keep up with it all, perhaps try and take it a day at a time, I find it breaks things down into more bit size chunks.

Really look after yourself and the Blood Cancer UK support line details are above if you need them
