This is great. Just need to make sure GPs are educated on the symptoms to suggest the blood test. My mum had multiple myeloma and she had a long wait for diagnosis. An earlier diagnosis would have saved her a lot of unnecessary pain. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your reply. I have somewhat of a bee in my bonnet about this subject. I have seen numerous accounts of myeloma patients being left undiagnosed for up to two years even though they had the classic symptoms described at the bottom of that article. Myeloma treatment is the best it’s ever been and it seems a shame that it is not being used at the earliest opportunity. If an ignoramus like me can get themselves informed it can’t be that difficult for gps to keep themselves up to date with things. Rant over
