I’ve just had a call that my PCR result is significantly higher than usual for the first time nearly 4 years after Chronic myeloid leukaemia diagnosis. Has anyone experienced this?
Hello there @Debbie
I saw your post and wanted to welcome you to our Forum. I can imagine that any change in your PCR must concern you? May I ask if you have spoken to your Clinical Nurse Specialist about this? Have you got another blood scheduled to re-check your levels?
Variations can happen in PCR levels but it is important to discuss this directly with your Haematology team and ensure that consecutive testing is planned.
Please do call if you need to talk things through, we are happy to support you: Blood cancer information and support by phone and email | Blood Cancer UK
Kind regards

Hi @Debbie and welcome to the forum.
I can see Gemma has already replied and will be able to advise you more on the medical side of things. The support line is great, if or when you need it.
It must be a really worrying time for you. How are you doing?
Hi @Debbie a great big welcome to our forum.
I have another leukaemia but I do know the anxiety before and during tests, results and appointments.
Then I study my results and as soon as I see something that is higher or lower than usual it really jumps out of the page at me and I do not see all the results that look as they usually do.
I always get things checked out with my medical team so I know what is going on, it helps my mind.
Take lots of care and I look forward to hearing more about you.
