Hi.
Still in shock and devastated about my recent diagnosis. Should be starting treatment in the next couple of weeks.
My question is, 2 days ago I started with pain in the bottom of my back (for no apparent reason I can think of). I know this could be a symptom.
It was about 4 weeks ago when I had the bone marrow biopsy and full body ct scan.
The scan at the time showed a small amount of myeloma in my skull but no other bones.
My mind is imagining that this awful disease is spreading to my back. My heart is saying slow down and breathe
Anyway. The question. Do I inform the hematologist or just wait till Iām called in to start treatment which should be soon.
I am sorry to hear you have recently been diagnosed with light chain myeloma. It is completely understandable that you are still in shock and are devastated. I can only imagine how difficult and overwhelming this time must be. We are all here to support you.
I would encourage you to let the haematology team know today about your pain especially as it is a new symptom. It is important to inform them and not wait until your treatment starts. Have you been given the contact details of a Clinical Nurse Specialist? If so, you could contact them.
If we can help and support you in any way @Dee123, please do not hesitant to get in touch with our experienced nursing team. I have linked the details here Blood Cancer UK support line
