I stand in the shower get washed all over and brave number 2 in the shower it’s really freezing! Not a life for anyone. I have this cream called AVEENO- EXCELLENT STUFF get it off your doctor or online for cheapness also take hydroxyzine take 3xday & try to keep your self warm for a while. I really feel for you

Mrs T welcome to our group. I am using dermocool 5%, it works great for me and have been taken off all antihistamines as they dont do any good as itch is so deep, going to have phototherapy but not had any word yet. Carol xxx

I have had only moderate itching with ET and it comes and goes. I thought it was a big problem with PV people. But I have read somewhere that a few people have a condition with something of both these illnesses. You will have e guessed I am not a doctor.
Hi Jumbo4, what do you use for your itching xx
How are you doing @ladicaz ?
Hi Nichola, getting there, just doing a wee bit more every couple of days. Had a shock when they told me it was heart failure, but getting all the appropriate help. Hows you doing, xxx
Good to hear from you @ladicaz. I can imagine it was such a shock! I’m glad you are taking it slowly and looking after yourself.
Not too bad here. Just trying to prepare the girls for a return to school. It will do them good, once we work through their anxiety!
Hi @ladicaz, you must have had a shock when they told you it was heart failure, I am finding things hit me a lot harder in lockdown. I am really glad that you are getting the appropriate help.
Don’t forget we are here for you as is the Blood Cancer UK support line.
Take care and stay safe and keep posting
Ladicaz
I am very sorry I have only just noticed your question! You ask what I do about itching. It comes in waves followed by a more peaceful period and then a whole lot more itching, but never quite as bad as before I was treated for Essential thrombocythemia (ET).
I use Fucibet from the GP, plus a large quantity of Cetraben also from GP, plus occasional Vaseline Advanced Rescue cream. These things are never completely effective but better than nothing. Avoiding rubbing and scratching helps too. Sorry, no miracle cure! Jumbo4
Hi Jumbo4
I use dermacool 5% which takes about 15 to 20 mins to start numbing the affected are, I also am on gabapenton I take 1200mg 3 times a day, have found this helps as dont have itching as much, also gave had phototherapy which calmed it for about 3 months only drawback is you can only have it once a year. Hope your itching keeps at bay.
Carol
Hi all hope you all have a great Easter weekend
The same to you @ladicaz, spring is springing.
