Welcome to the forum @Billystone91, I’m so sorry to read of your diagnosis with Polycythaemia vera (PV). How are you doing? Now is a good time to give yourself a treat, I’d say
Is your poor appetite due to finding out about Polycythaemia vera (PV)? Do let your doctor know. This Blood Cancer UK information might be useful:
I was diagnosed with Polycythaemia vera (PV) in 2023 and I take an iron-free multivitamin approved by my haematologist as I’m vegan and don’t get all nutrients easily via my diet.
Always check this sort of stuff with your own haematologist though, they may advise you to avoid eating too much iron-rich food.
Do let us know how you get on @Billystone91.
Thank you! I’m ok thank you for asking my appetite has been poor for sometime, and now I’ve developed an unhealthy relationship with food in general!
I’ve got some appointments coming up so I’ll have a chat with them thank you for your help! I hope you’re well!
X
Hi There @Billystone91 a big welcome to our forum.
I see @Duncan has given you a far better response than I could have done.
Yes, I agree to check everything you consider first at your next appointment and perhaps get a hospital or GP referral to the nutrition/dietician to help with, as you put it, your ‘unhealthy relationship’ with food.
Perhaps then you would not feel the need for supplements.
Be kind and look after yourself and please do let us know how you get on.
