Worried of bruises

Hi!
On Sunday I last noticed a bigger
bruise that I didn’t think I had hit
anything. I also got a few bruises around my knees a little over a month ago, after which
I started to notice bruises on my legs and sometimes there are several small ones and sometimes 1 bigger one
(but never before this swollen like on Sunday.
About a month ago I had night sweats
for a week, I thought it was maybe due to the warm weather. I have also
sometimes had a fever and had a cold/throat Now I feel like I am out of breath
easily and sometimes I get hot
waves during the day and a sweaty feeling that goes away after a while. My stomach also feels
full/swollen.
Today I have also noticed that I am more thirsty than normal and I pee more often.
The bruise that appeared on Sunday is just darkened and become reddish in middle. It does not seem to heal same way as usual.

Hi @Aminamk thanks for contacting our forum, welcome, about your symptoms.
Have you seen your GP about them and if you have what did they say?
I believe that it is very difficult for a medical person to diagnose such generic symptoms as they might be something or nothing but your GP knows your whole medical history
I find it useful to write down all my symptoms, when they started and their severity.
Photos help as well.
Then I write down all my fears, questions and practicalities so I am organised at my appointment.
You obviously feel it might be a blood cancer, so there is a question to ask.
Don’t forget all tests are to rule conditions in or out.
Please do let us know how you get on.
Really look after yourself

Thank you
I called health center Tuesday and just in phone told about the bruises and they told I can go to take blood samples. They told me they will book a phone call time for doctor on 17.6 that he will see the blood test results and comment.
I already saw the results in internet and it seemed everythin was within normal range, just red blood cells on the lowest end and L basophils 1% which is slightly high end. Hemoglobine and leucosytes etc. normal range.

But because of this bruise doesn’t heal so well, I called again today and send some photos on health chat, and the nurse told me that doctor will look my blood tests 17.6. And I asked about is bruise healing normally and then she put me on some note that my health center will check my case on Monday.

I have a feeling this is not quite normal so hopefully they will do some more tests. I’ll tell here then.

Hi @Aminamk and welcome to the forum.
It’s sounds as though you are doing the right thing and checking it out with your doctor.
Obviously any change in our health is worrying but it could be a number of things.
I’m glad you don’t have to wait too long for the appointment.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Hello @Aminamk,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for your post.

We are sorry to read that you are having a worrying time with bruising and other symptoms.
You have done the correct thing in getting these checked out by your health centre and having bloods taken.

As Erica mentioned, if you are concerned about a blood cancer, we would recommend stating this at your appointment so that your doctor is aware of what it is you are feeling concerned about and they can proceed with any further relevant tests.

As Erica also said, it may be worth writing things down, you could perhaps keep a diary or any symptoms you have and when they occurred so that you can let the doctor know when you see them.
In terms of bruising, you could have a think about if you have been doing anything different such as exercise, house work etc which could have caused this or have they appeared randomly? and are they anywhere else etc.

For further information, you may want to see our page Blood cancer symptoms and signs | Blood Cancer UK as this includes questions you may like to ask your doctor and Blood cancer tests | Blood Cancer UK as this includes different diagnostic tests including blood tests and a link to the normal levels expected in this test.

Take care & please let us know how you are doing,
Emma (support services nurse)

Thank you for your kind replies everyone.

I have small kids who I play a lot with, so I have many times some small bruises specially in my legs. Now I have one in my arm. I don’t remember hurting anywhere, and on other hand when I hit myself somewhere and wait for the bruise to come, there might not come anything. Yesterday I hit my arm to sink quite hard accidentally and I am observing to see if bruise comes but no bruises came from that (the other bruise on my arm I talked about is different place and has been many days already). I try to pay attention a lot to places where I get any damage by kids or anything that I would know if it came for reason.
So very random bruises I think.

This big one in my shin I don’t really think I have hit it anywhere and it suddenly appeared swollen painful light blue (but not red) and later the center become reddish. The lump inside was bigger first, I assume it was hematoma blood clot.
The reason why I worry is that I did not hit it anywhere to cause such big bruise.

And those multiple bruises on legs, I tried to think where could I have got it, I had just been doing normal things and being active going to parks with kids etc. Anyways I haven’t anymore gotten so many bruises at same time after that. Now I have just that one in shin and one small in arm.
Last Sunday there were some smaller ones in my legs too (picture from Sunday).

I’ll tell here if some reason for these comes up.
I hope you are well and have great weekend :hugs:
