Thanks , will try ringing round tomorrow.
Thanks,
The system for ordering on line was one of the few that worked very well for me.
This new process seems a backwards step especially for people with mobility issues.
Hi @KBull if you yourself or anyone else has mobility problems then do tell the pharmacy when you ring up and see if there is anything they can do to assist.
Take lots of care and please do report back
Hi
No luck ringing round pharmacies so I contacted my local ICB which it advises on the website.
They dont have a list of participating pharmacies. Its going to be cheaper for me to buy them.
Oh @KBull I am so sorry that you are having such a hassle.
I will copy this to the Blood Cancer UK nurses, @BloodCancerUK_Nurses for their comments.
Thanks so much for your persistence.
I actually got a supply in on the old system so I havenāt joined the āMission Impossibleā
Itās all so frustrating! Our local pharmacy that was stocking them but has had them withdrawn (or at least no new supplies of Govt tests available). The Boots in our nearest big town was given three free boxes to supply the whole ECV population!!! No wonder they were out of stock by the time weād stood in a queue of coughing people. Iām not impressed and not happy about it at all so yes, weāve resorted to buying them.
Oh it really must be so frustrating for you too @Coastgirl
Look after yourself
Dear @KBull
I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems accessing lateral flows. Would it be possible for you to message me privately (direct message on here) with your postcode so that we can forward this to the NHS and highlight the issues you have experienced?
Many thanks
Gemma
Hi
I have only been able to locate 2 x 5 LFTās in an urban area of at least 150,000 people.
I do not know if this is an allocation problem or just that chemists are rather more interested in selling LFTās.
If I was going to sit down and devise a system to replace the online ordering, and at the same time discourage the issuing of free LFTās then this isnt far off that.
I found the process of obtaining them at the one chemist I located humiliating, the interrogation in public, and form filling was something I didnt really expect to have to endure. It also encouraged resentment which if not deliberate has at the very least taken all confidentiality from what should be a private matter.
These are just my experiences and I hope others have fared better.
Hello there
I am so sorry to hear that your experience was so terrible. If it is useful I can take some more details via email and I can take it to our policy team who can then relay (confidentially) this case to the NHS and Department of Health.
If you would like to do this please direct message on here or email: support@bloodcancer.org.uk
Kind regards
Gemma
Itās really hard to find somewhere isnāt it. I gave up last week and bought a pack but will keep looking!
My local Boots in a medium sized town is doing them, I took all my proof and all the pharmacist wanted was for me to fill out a form.
I asked for a spare form so I could fill it out at home and photocopy it and she gave me one.
She said it was one pack a month.
Iāll keep looking @Erica
