Hi,
Does anyone know the answer to this? I would qualify for the booster due to age, but expect there to be a long wait especially after the GPs expressed their unwillingness to become involved and there been fewer vacination centres and vacinators than before.

Hi @helenfwallace,
Thanks for your question. I hope your keeping well?
As you have a diagnosis of MGUS, which is classed as âimmunosuppressionâ within the green book, then yes you are very likely eligible & will be offered a further vaccine as part of the autumn vaccine programme.
The guidance highlights- For people previously defined as immunosuppressed.
This includes:
-
People with myeloma and related conditions*
"The JCVI has specifically outlined patients to be included in this cohort under follow-up for myeloma and âother plasma cell dyscrasiasâ. Plasma cell dyscrasias include monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS),*
General guidance on how the Autumn booster will be rolled out is likely to be updated on our vaccine webpage really soon, but there is a good possibility that you will be able to âself declareâ at a vaccine centre rather than waiting to be invited on the basis of your condition
& immunosuppression.
We will confirm the details of this as soon as we know more via this page here- How to book a covid vaccine if you have blood cancer | Blood Cancer UK
Please do know thought Helen should you wish to talk this through our support service team are always on hand- 0808 2080 888.
I hope this helps, Take Care, Lauran
