Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (CMML2)

Ping away. That’s absolutely fine. When I went into hospital for my transplant it luckily coincided with Wimbledon fortnight which helped the long days to pass. And boy were they long…

So, I’ve had all my pre SCT work ups, my brother had his donor health checks last Thursday.
I see my haematology consultant this Thursday and I start 4th round azacitidine chemo on 22 June.
I’ve appointments with SCT consultant then team on 1 July day after chemo finishes, and an appointment on 27 July all at Addenbrookes (latter to have central catheter line fitted). the info sheet I have says they do that immediately before the start of conditioning regime.
It looks like things are moving ahead.
I may know more after Thursday … I’ll keep you all posted but you all need to keep your fingers crossed please :kissing_heart: xxxxxx

Oh @ChrisCKW scary, unknown territory ahead for you and actually your brother, at least you have a map of appointments and the treatment plan.
It also sounds quite exhausting emotionally, physically and practically, we are here to support you and I am typing this with my fingers crossed.
Take so much care of yourself and yes, keep posting , we await Thursday too.

Gosh - it’s all go isn’t it! How are you and your brother feeling about it all? I can imagine a range of feelings.
I have everything crossed too :crossed_fingers:
Keep us updated and take care

So pleased! Brother passed his tests - all good to go :tada::tada::tada::tada:
I finished chemo on Tuesday, thank :duck: and spent whole day at Addenbrookes on Thursday.
I had yet another bone marrow aspiration and biopsy- I hate that! As long as results from that show that chemo has reduced blasts to less than 10 I’m good to go too! I have a risk score of only 1 so that really pleased my consultant (and delighted me!)
I’m being admitted on 02/08 - after my centre line fitting on 27/7. Brother’s cells will be harvested and given to me 10/11 August. His first granddaughter is due on 15 august so desperately hoping baby is on time or late.
I now have a month of trying to get as healthy and well fed as possible! I’m still a bit too light - good for everyday life but not if I’m going to lose significant body weight during the procedures.
Keep your fingers crossed for me xxxxxxx

Wow @ChrisCKW all systems go as they say, scary/exciting times for you and your brother.
Right, healthy and well fed it is this month that’s your task and all our tasks are to keep our fingers crossed for you. As for the baby, I think they have a will of their own.
Keep posting.

Thanks @Erica and @Nichola75 . I was so happy! Absolutely shattered yesterday - with legs and tummy so sore from chemo and buttock/hip painful from bone tests I struggled to sleep Thursday night. But I was happy! And v happy today.
Can’t thank you enough for the support and the ability to talk about news good and bad.

Ps got a free wig from Maggie’s - so I have a lovely starter until I know what will happen to hair (whether it will grow back or not).

Again thank you @Erica :two_hearts:

On the drug trial - get the third drug (thiotepa) added in to the standard two (fludarabine and bisulphate).
Admittance 3/8
3 Covid swabs, one hinkman line fitting and picc line removal, plus 3 full blood tests between now and then.
Bone marrow samples were good; blasts down to 1% in marrow and 5% in bone itself
Thunderbirds are go ….

Wow @ChrisCKW Thunderbirds sure are go.
You’ve got a lot to fit in before 3/8 especially as you have also really got to look after yourself and have the odd treats.
I could really feel the positiveness in your post, I also like a plan.
Space helmet and suit on before lift off.
