Aww @Spangleystar yes the hard part is the goodbye isn’t it, mine will have to be quick as don’t want to break at that point
I do hope it all goes on schedule, bloody awful trying to re-jig things around all this, but no way would I have entertained the ambulatory, even though I’ve spoken to a few who have done it at Christie, if I’m being treated I want to be in!
x
I think work etc have to be accommodating at this time for our husbands x

@Spangleystar i have to be there for 8 on Wednesday, have bloods and wait until results-,up to 2 hours then find out if they will start, it’s a lot of hanging around, then Keith is back off to sit in the car park
god I hate this, and what it’s putting others through too
@Byrnebaby
Hopefully because it’s early in the morning the counts will come back quickly, mine took about 30 minutes, the nurses asked for it to come back quickly because of how far I’d come (and that I may have had to go home again), so make sure the team knows about your hb and I’m sure they’ll do all they can xx
@Spangleystar oh I hope so, the nerves and anxiety are in overdrive today as hubby is in work, I think it’s a combination of the cyclo and jabs , I can imagine you are feeling the same, it’s so much for us to handle isnt it x and I really don’t want to disturb your peace today x
Blood transfusions and platelets are pretty normal
through transplants they are supportive care while engraftment takes place.
Both make you feel better

It’s a lot for sure BB. I’ve had to give my hb my bosses number in case it doesn’t go my way, that was pretty heavy. We’re going for a walk in the woods in a bit then cooking a nice Sunday roast to take my mind off it xx

Look at it this way
People want to help and often do t know how too.
Your hubby maybe feels like he is helping by driving you and just being there even if it’s in the car park.
My friends wanted to help so I took their offers of help to drive me
We all want to feel useful somehow
It’s the little things don’t underestimate how it makes that person feel good

Do you like jigsaw puzzles?
I find them brilliant for quieting my mind and I love the feel of the pieces dropping through my fingers

@Spangleystar you obviously mean ‘doesn’t go your way’ in terms of not being admitted right? Not in any ‘other’ way?
Enjoy your walk and lunch x
@2DB aww yes, he doesn’t mind at all, I just feel for him, I carry all these guilts of how I’m putting him out and the kids, I’m missing sons birthday on Wednesday as I’m hopefully in the collection chair, just feels a lot, and I know, I’ll get through, I think it’s the cyclo, dex and growth jabs, messing with me as I’m on my own today x

Sorry my lovely @Byrnebaby
I didn’t mean to upset you. It won’t be me and it won’t be you

Yep take time out from thinking about this, that’s a healthy thing to do xx

Hi @Spangleystar
There may well be days when getting yourself up for a shower is just too tough and the good news the nursing team will help.
If you can’t manage a shower your nursing team will bring a basin and everything you need to have a wash.
Rest assured you won’t be boggin (Scottish term for dirty smelly)

Hi @Spangleystar and @Byrnebaby
You are both having a different type of stem cell transplant to me.
I needed platelet infusions most days and bloods every few days whilst in for transplant.
Both continued to be needed at least weekly for about a month after discharge.
Platelet infusions very quick. Usually about 30 minutes.
Bloods usually about 3-4 hours as they had to wait for bloods to arrive. I typically had 2 bags and second bag not ordered until first one done.
