ET and getting holiday insurance

Hi, I booked a holiday today to Canada however am getting quotes from £1000 to £3500. I have JAK2POSITIVE ET . I would appreciate any suggestions on who will cover this condition at a reasonable cost. I may cancel the holiday.

Worth having a look at ‘Insurance With’ - have used them in the past and found then good. Hope you get something more reasonable offered and that it means you have a great holiday

I have found that taking out yearly travel insurance is impossible now. But I have been able to get reasonable quotes from the like of Puffin for two weeks and week holidays to Europe . I have NHfollicular and osteoporosis I always declare all confirmed ongoing investigations treatment otherwise any insurance is invalid.

Haven’t used them for a while, but Saga seemed to be pretty reasonable for this ET patient travelling in Europe.

Insurance will be tricky but you might be able to get one which excludes illness brought about by the cancer in Canada but would include unrelated things like say a broken leg.I suppose it probably wouldn’t be wise to take such a policy but only you know what the progression of the cancer is and if it’s likely to cause any trouble in however many weeks you are there? I’d love to see the Queen Charlotte Islands north of Vancouver. My only visit to Canada, not counting changing planes in Toronto for Mexico City, was a trip from Boston to Montreal on a Greyhound bus and a few days in Montreal.

Hello Belinda
Crickey, hope you’ve managed to find a cheaper quote.
I have previously found Staysure very good, they tend to specialise in holiday insurance for those of us with ailments
Good luck
