At this moment in time Arsenal have the advantage.
What is interesting though is Arsenal have to play Chelsea & Spurs. What are your overall thoughts now?
@Wullysamba @Erica @Iain @Rammie18
The Gunners have just got to really want it, keep focused and keep winning.
Good reply. I think all teams will remain unbeaten. Liverpool could draw the derby. which may help, but at their peak Liverpool are like playing against the computer. Teams prefer points, but City do have extra game.
On another subject Spurs are in 4th yet the gap is 10 pts between them and third, sums up ho far ahead top 3 really are.
Hi @Erica @anon06 and all you others out there
So we’re getting a 'super league ’ via the backdoor and as for the ups and downs of relegation and promotion what a farce.
Forest hit, Toffees hit twice, Foxes and others under threat - how can the leagues have credibility?
When will Man City get their day in 'court", be that PL, FA or is it to be a long running soap-opera for the 24hr a day TV drivel?
As for the Prem title it’s still open to the threesome but with Liverpool"s slip of form and Man Citys No.9 drying up is it for Erica’s Gooners to grab?
Squeaky Bum time here in Leicester but ah! “It’s only a game” could be something important like health.
Hope all you guys keep well - 'Drink sensibility " and be ‘Gambling aware’.
Now where’s my bottle opener and lets see who’s running in the National.
I honestly don’t think City will get punished, they won’t have done anything wrong because the law states you can only spend what you earn. Eg Stating the obvious City earn more than Everton.
The unfairness is the stupid law. If a billionaire took over Everton or Forest it would not make a difference. Therefore it is perfectly fine for City to spend 50 million on a player, yet because of the law Everton could not “afford” to spend 10 million.
They call this law financial fair play:thinking: how is this fair? @Iain
I think it’s city’s to lose. I’m not sure Arsenal can hold it together now , no matter how much I’d like it to happen. Saying that, Chelsea and spurs are both flakey teams so it will be good to watch.
I’m hoping Liverpool fall apart and bottle the league and the Europa league, appoint a Tiki taka style manager who flops and Everton get some bragging rights. anything can happen
Based on fixtures I reckon it’s City’s again.
For obvious reasons… hope spurs absolutely collapse…
Villa only need 2 wins out of 6 I think to secure 5th and just to better spurs week in week out without conceding as many, as I don’t see the Europa pack winning all remaining 6 games.
Be crazy to think that Villa may need to win the Europa conference to qualify for the champions league if we do finish 5th.
@Wullysamba @Iain Of course City have the advantage at this moment in time. Also it is significant that City are the current champions for the past three seasons.
I certainly would not write anyone off, all three teams will remain unbeaten.
It’s about staying powere for Arsenal & Liverpool and City holding their nerve.
I do recall when Arsenal and Liverpool had been “neck and neck” in 88/89. In the final match of the season Arsenal HAD to go to Annfield and win 2-0 to win the league. So you have a Liverpool team, the present champions AT HOME with Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge, captained by Alan Hansen, and managed by none other than KENNY DALGLISH!!! Arsenal took a 1-0 lead and after Liverpool players were giving each "high fives " between 84-86 mins. ARSENAL GRABBED THE WINNER IN LAST KICK OF GAME, Michael Thomas!
In the 1985/86 season Everton gained the advantage by beating Liverpool at Anfield. Liverpool won every game since that loss, or at least remained unbeaten
Everton, (yes the present all conquering champions from the previous season including Greme Sharp. Peter Reid Kevin Sheedy and
Gary Lineker (signed that season ), managed by none other than HOWARD KENDAL “buckled” at Oxford.
“Ok” Everton buckled, BUT Liverpool were there to capitalise and credit to them!
What Liverpool and Arsenal will surely aim for is to FORCE City to win on last day.
I find it interesting that since the international break, nobody has been top of the league for two weeks running
Potentially imagine a winner take all scenario on final day, meaning the team who wins by the biggest margin gain title!
Re: Chelsea V Everton
I SWITCHED OFF AFTER 20MINS!
Any thoughts on the Everton V Nottingham Forest var/penalty controversy
My thoughts are 2/3 ,incidents were 50/50 as to if penalty or not. The 3rd incident was a definite penalty. To not get any decisions was VERY UNLUCKY.
I just thought they were poor decisions. no bias. teams are to close to accuse bias. A draw would of actually been best result for Luton. A victory for any team would of been a disadvantage to Luton
